Want to get your hands dirty germinating native plant seeds? Help the Restoration Team sow the seeds of Eaton Canyon’s future as we germinate the seeds that we collected and processed in Workshops I and II, and get inspired to join the Conservation Crew in their nursery maintenance.
Volunteers will learn germination techniques for common native plant species, including pretreatment like scarification and stratification, as well as details on sowing practices, soil types, planting containers, and watering methods. These plants will be tended by the nursery crew and ultimately transplanted into the at-risk stands in the canyon, but each volunteer will take home a seedling in gratitude for their contributions.
This is the final event in a three-part series focused on seed propagation of native plants.
